Historically, it is not one, but 7 cities from different eras. As I call it my hometown now, I have covered the various attractions over the years. These images were shot while doing slow-travel (!) through my hometown. - Instagram Roundup - Classic Delhi - Travelure ©
Singapore Botanic Gardens - A Forest in the City with some vicious plants

Singapore Botanic Gardens – A Forest in the City

This garden isn’t for VIPs. In fact, it is the centrepiece of Singapore's famed orchid diplomacy. The flora here is named after visiting dignitaries of the world. Alongside Margaret Thatcher, Lady Diana and Emperor Akihito, orchids named after Ricky Martin, Jackie Chan and our very own Shah Rukh Khan cohabit here.
One Kind House - A Zig and a Zag - Rea on to know why

One Kind House – A Zig and a Zag

Want to experience Singapore's traditional culture by dining with a Singaporean family? Do grab the opportunity, as it would also give a boost to a local's determined attempt to provide its youth with a glimpse of the city-state’s rapidly vanishing lifestyle.
Pulau Ubin Way helps protect the environment for posterity - Back to the Roots - Last Kampung of Singapore

Pulau Ubin – Back to the Roots – Last Kampung of Singapore

Somewhere along this journey, the authorities became mindful of its impact. The urbanisation and resultant cosmopolitanism were gobbling up the local culture. This otherwise green equatorial island was increasingly greying. And the local flora and fauna were going extinct. This brought about their decision to retain and nurture the Pulau Ubin Island as a cultural oasis for the city-state. Little wonder it is considered the last kampung (village) of Singapore.

A Himachal Heritage Haveli - Garli - Pure Air. Pure Art. Pure Heritage.

Garli – Pure Air. Pure Art. Pure Heritage.

With Delhi NCR's air getting more noxious by the minute, people prefer heading out for the long weekends. This poses a dilemma of choosing a destination. With Mussoories, Shimlas and McLeodgunjes crawling with Delhiites a la Chandni Chowk, the choices surely shrink. In such dire times, I am glad to have found an unexplored heritage gem during this year's World Heritage Week. All thanks to a FAM trip organised by SoulMedia! Read on and enjoy - 'Garli – Pure Air. Pure Art. Pure Heritage.' Hopefully, you'd also personally discover it soon enough!
Folk instruments make their presence felt in Kullu Dussehra - Gods' Own Get-Together

Kullu Dussehra – Gods’ Own Get-Together

While I have shared the various tales and described the festivities for you, the most interesting story regarding the origin of Kullu Dussehra I heard was from a visitor. Of course, there is no truth in it. According to him, after Lord Rama killed Ravana, all the gods came over to congratulate him and then proceeded to have a party! Whatever be the true reason for the celebration, it certainly is one of the most colourful events I have witnessed till now. Kullu Dussehra - Gods' Own Get-Together

Ladakh – World’s Highest Desert – Instagram Roundup

These images are not about moments, but about the epicness of a majestic region. While going through these, it is likely you may feel the gentle rustling of the prayer flags, the violent gushing of glacial rivers, the evocative notes of quaint local instruments, the faith and belief of the humble people of Ladakh, and its stark, rugged terrain. You may even feel the devotion and meditation of monks, see the browns, blues, greens, and reds of this colourful desert and hear the folklore of this region.
